A few hexapods

While discovering the latest blooming wildflowers in the vicinity of Spanish Creek, I found some insects had woken up for the season as well. Saw lots of ants and termites active beneath rocks and logs and found these butterflies gathered on the damp sand by water's edge. The grasshopper was in the same area but didn't stay put very long. I got off two lucky shots before it flew off quite a distance. Now that I know a few things have woken up from winter, I'll be compulsively tipping over rocks and logs wherever I go. After taking pictures, I always carefully replace them.
