Flavor of the Day

Saw lots of Chicory today, and had conversations with camping guests about that famous chicory coffee in New Orleans.  This common roadside weed reminds me daily of enjoyable days as a college student in New Orleans quite a few years ago.
During this past week, I've led nature interpretive hikes for six days and seen a great variety of blooming flowers and visiting insects and spiders.  I've taken approximately 500 photographs.  I'm just beginning to sort, edit, and post the best of them.  Tomorrow, I hope to post the best of my trip last Thursday to two trails by Bucks Lake, the Mill Creek Trail and the Bucks Creek Loop.  Meanwhile, check out the Bloom Blog at www.plumascounty.org to see some of them.
