...not by Petruchio. And it doesn't look at all like Kate. Truth be known, shrews don't act like Kate either. I found it dead and frozen on my driveway. This time it was probably one of our cats. We have a smart cat named Hershey. He probably figured out there was no dowry and lost interest. Anyway, I put the dead shrew on the hood of my van for a photo session then gave it a proper burial.
The above photo is of the back side, called dorsum by biologists. The below photo is of the ventrum.
There are several species of shrew in the Sierra, all in the genus Sorex. These tiny critters have more teeth than we do.
