To start a new month of blog posts, I thought I'd take an afternoon tour of the fungi growing in the woods next to my driveway. Some very colorful ones, some of which I posted earlier when they were smaller. I love seeing them from day to day getting larger, and it's satisfying to see that the many young people who walk by don't kick them over. I'm headed off for an art opening, so the rest of the show will come later this evening. Then, over the weekend, which promises to be less complicated than recent ones, I'll catch up on my long-delayed postings from October trips to the Keddie Cascades and Butterfly Valley.
Although I called this one "Shroom of the Day" there were many others competing for this honor.
