It's no wonder that some educators prefer windowless classrooms. My son and I were reviewing some basic math skills when he spotted this brightening of a few leaves on a large California Black Oak just outside our dining room window. How could I resist. My signature oak first provided a show of Oak Treehoppers a couple of days ago, and now this. The first flame-red color change that I've noticed in our neighborhood. Despite the rain, I had to get the camera and head outside for some close-up shots.
Personally, I still prefer classrooms with windows. Many, if not most, of the best lessons are outside. We evolved outside. Why do we insist on spending so much time inside? I guess it's Edison's fault.

Love that flame red on the Black Oak! What a colorful prelude to Autumn.
ReplyDeleteOr a coda to summer.
