It's been almost two weeks (Aug. 25) since I posted photos of Blazing Star near Lake Almanor. The shots were taken late in the afternoon when the blossoms had closed up for the day. This morning I got out early enough to catch some in full bloom near Spring Garden, east of Quincy. Many blossoms in the area had already gone to seed, so i was lucky to get these shots. One more cold night and they might be gone for the season. I find the seed capsule just as interesting as the blossom.
