Early Morning Light Show

Someone must have dropped a jelly doughnut on the ground beneath the two young oaks in front of Papa's Donuts.  They put on the best color show of any oaks I know of, and while some leaves are turning shades of bright red and orange, others stay green a while longer producing a great range of color on each tree.  Best before 10 a.m.  The doughnuts, too.

My favorite Milkweed spot on Lee Road across from the rodeo grounds.  The Showy Milkweed plants are totally brown and brittle, so no chance of seeing the Red Milkweed Beetle again until next summer.  However, for another week or two the seeds bursting out of their pods provide great photo ops, especially early in the morning under low light.  Click on each photo to enjoy the detail in the seeds.
