I took a little trip this afternoon to see what was going on around Keddie Cascades, Butterfly Creek, and the Greenville Y. I got lots of interesting photos, but this Woodland Star got to the head of the line. I posted some photos of this species yesterday that were taken in tall grass under some willow trees. Today's specimen was at the edge of a small cliff which is where they normally grow. I had a better view, better light and it was a healthier specimen. Enjoy. More photos from this afternoon's outing will follow soon. Click on this photo for a larger view. It's quite an elegant flower.
