Opportunist!

I would never have seen this sight while driving eastward on Main Street, Quincy.  But, yesterday, as I was walking home from Quincy Natural Foods, heading westward, I spotted a bunch of blossoms that didn't seem to fit with the huge Black Locust tree I've known for years.  On closer inspection, it appeared to be Choke Cherry.  There was evidently enough disintegrating bark and old leaves to trap some "soil" and catch a seed of Choke Cherry - maybe deposited by a bird - around 10 feet off the ground.  The first photo shows the scene, the second a close-up of the little cherry tree, and the third a branch of the Locust tree showing its typical pea-like blossoms.  It is a legume, Family Fabaceae.
