Wet Stuff, Part 2
Here are some more images from yesterday's brief jaunt between rainy periods. I had the idea of a title, "Wet Stuff," before I took any photos. I actually set out to photograph water drops. But something unexpected always happens. The water drops on the back of a plant bug in yesterday's post was a particularly enjoyable find. Also, the wetness enhanced the green color of leaves so the leaves were not entirely upstaged by the water drops. One other exciting find was the group of fungi in the bottom photo. Actually, it might be a single fungus. The exciting thing was that they were growing on the underside of a rotting log. When I rolled over the log (as seen in the photo) it was apparent that the fungi had begun to grow downward, then negative geotropism took over and they curved upward. Hence, the curved stems. And, I just noticed that SpellCheck doesn't recognize the word geotropism. They need to upgrade their dictionary.
