We Saved It!

 My son Greg and I encountered this healthy-looking Gopher Snake on Meadow Valley Road in the vicinity of the school.  Actually, we passed it, then realized it might still be alive.  Greg made a U-turn and we came back to get a closer look.  On the way, we gestured to prevent an oncoming car from running over it.  Close call.  After getting a few photos, we chased it into the adjacent meadow where hopefully it continued on further away from the road.  We then went on to Silver Lake and hiked up to Gold Lake and Back.  Photos of that part of the trip will be posted tomorrow.
