Sunday morning I went out to check on my long-term resident crab spider. The top of the daisy was uninhabited so I thought she was gone. But, when I peeked underneath, there she was. Maybe waiting for a little more morning sun. Within minutes, she came out of hiding and caught a butterfly. This begins my play in six acts. They are titled as follows: A Good Night's Sleep, The Attack, Dining, Hiding, Deceased, and Dessert. As of sundown tonight, she's still there, poised as if to snag one last morsel before bedtime. Goldenrod Crab Spiders seem abundant this year. I'm hoping I'll see a male for the first time.
