A Good Flower Day at 3,000'
I started my picture taking in front of the donut shop early in the morning when I came across a large patch of Butter 'n Eggs, a member of the snapdragon family. Then, on the way home from Greenville later in the day I spotted a patch of bright pink Showy Phlox. They were in a place where it wasn't safe to stop, so I parked down the road a ways and walked back. When I started prowling around in the woods near the phlox, I saw many other beauties: the Heartleaf
Milkweed, Spanish Clover, and Pacific Starflower. Then, at the Greenville Y, the Cinquefoil have finally bloomed. A fringe benefit on this stop was a good view of a Bluebelly Lizard and some beautiful Lupine.
