Mouse detection by Radar. I kid you not; the cat's name is Radar. I had fed the cat this morning before he discovered the mouse. So, rather than immediately make a meal of the mouse, Radar seemed content to play with it. He'd take a gentle swipe every now and then, but mostly just hang around and watch the mouse huddle and shiver. I got lots of good photos.
Watching this play, one can't help but sympathize with the mouse a bit. But, do we sympathize with the cow or the pig? No, we rename the cows we kill "beef" or "steak" or "hamburger," and the pigs "ham" or "bacon" and we have a few paid assassins do all the dirty work for us. Q: Where does hamburger come from kids? A: Why, the supermarket, of course.

Hey Joe,
ReplyDeleteSo true! Good catch by Radar, too bad for the mouse, but that the life of a prey species. Wouldn't world be interesting if we all still had to harvest out own meat, I wonder what would be left...
Cheers
